The 9-minute Marinator

I have a confession to make. I really get a kick out of watching Infomercials, especially the ones about products that have to do with the home (kitchen gadgets, cleaning gadgets, and furniture-related items).

Mike doesn't share my enthusiasm for Infomercials (I suppose few people do) ... except for ... the Infomercial on the 9-minute Marinator!

So last weekend, I decided to bite the bullet and shell out the money for an early boyfriend-girlfriend anniversary gift for my husband. And I ordered it. It was the first time I'd ever ordered something from an Infomercial.

(While looking for the above picture, I got jealous when I found out that the Canadian company that sells it offers a chopper and two vacuum-seal food canisters along with the marinator! The only thing that comes after "And wait, there's more!" on the Philippine version of the Infomercial is a pair of bendable chopping boards. Grrr.)

It arrived at home yesterday.

So last night we made tuna steaks. We threw in some lemon juice, butter, salt, and pepper along with the tuna, in the Marinator for 5 minutes, and grilled the tuna on our electric grille.

Tonight we'll try real steaks.

Yummm ..... I can't wait to get home.

Sorry for the late reply, guys. :) Yes, we think it does work. It is expensive, though, so I suppose that it would only be "sulit" for people who intend to marinate a lot. :P

For certain, it sure beats having to wait a whole hour before starting to cook dinner. :)

I love infomercials too!!! Don't they make you feel like you just have to wait in front of the TV for them to show you the amazing solution to all your problems? :P

I've never seen this product but I googled it and it's available in the UK for £25 plus shipping, how much is it there?

This marinator really works and it does not take a lot of kitchen space. We use it for chicken breast, it always comes out with flavor and moist. It seems like it's worth the money. I got mine at www.thane.com

Wilson, you can get it from ShopTV (Solar's home shopping channel).

Christianne, it's about P3000.

It's really believe it's worth it if you cook a lot. I seem to recall Reggie Aspiras (the Inquirer food columnist) mentioning in her column that she uses it too.

You can buy the 9-Minute Marinator at HSN Home Shopping for P2,995 with 2 free chopping board at tel# 817-7000. It's safer to pay C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery)

Warning though to people buying from TV Shopping. There are scrupulous people who have access on the company's database (either there are spies or the company itself is selling their database) and would call you up and follow-up orders. They would even offer you lots of freebies, only for you to find out that their products are counterfeit and so so inferior. The one that called me lied to me that HSN Home Shopping's Website is out-of-order to justify his call.

To buy genuine products from HSN, call their Hotline 817-7000 and not from people who calls you. and remember, PAY CASH, don't use credit card because you have to give out your "3" numbers at the back of your credit card.

regarding the counterfeits. someones been calling me she said shes from ibc13 and she offered me the 9 minute marinator for 3000 the ctah is it comes with a miracle blade set and a sauna belt. she said it was it was part of special promo. i believe if its ibc13 then its value vision. do they carry out the product at that channel? i just wanna get your opinions on this cause the offer really is tempting, however if at the end im going to end up with a counterfeit then that would be a huge waste. and another catch is their not accepting credit card payments cause it was a "special offer" to me that sounds kind of fishy. hope i get a reply asap cause the offer ends up today.

Sorry, I have no idea, anthony. I suggest you call them up to ask. Best of luck!
